Derby Bentley Trophy 2008
Course: Marbella Golf
Played: 29 mars 2008
Golf Service Staff

In the celebration of Golf Services 10 year anniversary and the launch of our new classic golf buggy we sponsored and participated in the annual Derby Bentley Trophy event, hosted at the Marbella Golf club. I was excited to play this course again after some years remembering some challenging holes in the mountain. The course was in perfect condition. The layout is a variety between mountain and parkland with rivers, creaks, bunkers and water hazards along the way. This course really suited me like a glove when it is very technical. Each shot must be considered with outmost care. I recommend this brilliant course for the low to middle handicap players because of the course difficult level. I believe that the buggy is a requirement on this course.

Wasa Loppet
Course: Los Naranjos
Played: 02 Mars 2008

It has now become a tradition for us to play Wasa loppet every year at Los Naranjos. We could not ask for a better day, but maybe for a better score.
The hard greens made it difficult to get the ball to stop on the greens. The greens were in great condition and fair. In general the course is in good condition, only a few bunkers needed more sand.

I am already looking forward to playing Wasa Loppet next year. I would like to thank Wasa Real Estate for a well organized competition and their friendly lady staff making sure our spirit level was even during our play.

Don't play the pro!
Course: Doña Julia
Played: 23 november 2007

The last few months we have had beautiful weather. Last week we got all the rain needed for October and November. After all this rain it was great to play a course with a good drainage system. A buggy is a must on this course.
The first nine holes I found to be the toughest. They are slightly uphill and narrow. The second 9 are wider. The greens were fast but fair.
We played two four balls and the losers paid for dinner. I was put in the wrong 4 ball and lost. I have learned my lesson not to play against pro tour player such as Peter Gustavsson. Next time he will be on my team.

I always beat my boss!
Course: El Higueral
Played: 29 february 2008
Golf Service Staff

I was glad to hear when the boss asked if I wanted to go and play 9 holes. I could not ask for a better Friday. Clear blue skies, 20 degrees and beat my boss in golf. This course really belongs among my favorite ones. Yes, the course is very short. Yes, there are only nine holes available at the moment. However, there are plans to build nine more and a clubhouse. If these future nine will be as good as the existing one I believe this could be one of the best courses in Nueva Andalucia. The layout and design of the holes are great. There has been a thought behind placements of water, bunkers and trees to maximize the excitement for the perfect shot. Like I said, the course is short but with its well arranged bunkers and water hazards I can say it is not that easy.

New course!
Course: Gran Flamingos
Played: 10 november 2007
Golf Service Staff

It is always fun to play a new course. I have heard a few good and bad things about this course so I had to go and try it myself. Well, there is nothing like an easy start on this course. If you have a good start with straight tee shots you will probably love the course.
The greens are huge and excellent quality. In general the course conditions are high. Only a few fairways had long grass since they were newly seeded. In general it did not feel like I was playing a course on the Costa del Sol. NO construction, very peaceful and not crowded. The course was located in several valleys, sometimes it felt like I was in Arizona. A few holes were played along the river at the bottom of the valley with large mountain walls on both sides.

This course is perfect for the lower hcp or straight hitters. Actually I did not shoot straight nor score well but I really enjoyed it.
