Casares

25 km from Estepona. Casares is unquestionably one of the most attractive of the famous so-called whitewashed villages of Andalucia. It clings to the slopes of a hill at the foot of a castle in ruins and commands a magnificent view. The most remarkable buildings are the parish church and San Sebastián Church (both from the 17C). The detour, 14km from the coastal road, is well worth the effort.
