"I've been playing Calanova since it opened and was disappointed with it today. We've long given up on the restaurant as it certainly doesn't cater for golfers, no mixed grill, no omelettes etc. so we ate in advance. The two main issues today were the locations of the yellow tees and the condition of the fairways. The yellow tees were almost all so far forward, off the red and even blue tee boxes, that some normally good holes became far too short. The fairways were extremely patchy. The problem that arose again and again was that the ball sat on a bare patch with shrubby grass immediately behind and in front of it. This made good striking impossible particularly when playing finesse shots around the greens. The bunkers could also benefit from a lot more sand a s some were like playing off concrete. We've always enjoyed Calanova but now is not a good time to play it." - RemyM
