"The course was quite and we played a two ball which was good. The ground was a bit hard so you had to nip it off the top and some greens were completely brown with very little grass so very fast. "The course was very tight which was difficult to play with the balls running down and off the fairways. However we only managed to play 13 holes as the pace of play was horrendous. We were the only 2 ball also and came off after waiting on every shot. 13 holes taking 3 and 3/4 hours. We were looking at a 5 1/2 to 6 hour round. There didn't seem to be any Marshalls moving people on. Sorry but won't be playing the new course again. We paid a lot of money to watch the people in front play lots of shots." - Ian webber

"Played several courses over our three weeks in the area and this was by far the best value particularly as the greens were the best we played on, apart from Aloha. Fees plus buggy ( recommended) were very reasonable and we buzzed round ,with a four ball ,in around four hours. Given how busy all the courses are at this time of year it was great to go to every tee and play - without having to hang around for an eternity! Shortish holes in the main but some tricky ones and all different which added to our enjoyment. Probably too easy for low single figure handicappers but still great fun and just a grand day out." - JJB

"Very tight with undulating fairways and a few blind tee shots. Greens were in good condition, tricky to read. Tees were adequate but the fairways were generally fine. Higher handicappers in the group struggled a bit. Buggies are a must because of the elevation changes. Staff were friendly. No refreshment buggy going around which was a shame as it was hot. The New course takes A decent trip to get to hole 1 from the Clubhouse. This is A drawback for trolley players, as the course can easily be played with trolley. The course looks Nice, but not too Hilly. Take (sometimes VERY) sloping fairways into account! Aim extreme to keep Your balk on the same fairway but the oppositie site on multiple holes. "Hole 1 of the New Course is very far from the Pro-shop, I would have got lost and never found it had I not followed another golfer’s buggy, the guy in the pro-shop who checked me in only told me “follow the blue line”, he is not helpful nor friendly. My tee time was 12:30 and I got there an hour earlier, when I asked him if I could get on earlier (I’m a single), he said “it’s not possible, there is a 4-some before you, and many more before, it’s full”. Well, he lied, there was NO 4-some before me, actually there were no people before or after me, simply not many people on the course! Even the starter was not at Hole 1, he did not show up until I was about to hit. The course is fine, maintained pretty well, green is a bit slow, view is good on several holes. It’s only 10 minutes from my condo, easy and convenient to get to. It’s on the bottom of my repeat list, I would play Los Naranjos or La Quinta or Los Arqueros or Valle Ramona first. The other golfer I met said the Old Course is better, maybe I will try the Old Course next time, if the staff at Pro-shop become friendly!" - Anonymous

"The driving range is more than a kilometer away from Tee 1, but there is a small training area in front of the clubhouse. We went to Atalaya in the afternoon and it was horribly crowded (rush hour at main station!). A big commercial machinery. Caddy master „upgraded“ us to the old course and gave us little hope to finish before sunset (only 4-flights, start every 7 minutes). Even under these conditions we finished in 4 hours. The course is manageable in 3. The course is average condition, fairways are bumpy, balls are rolling badly. Most greens are ok, but some are really run down (old, roughly repaired). The course offers only a few challenges (mainly trees) and is quite flat. No necessity for a buggy. Although 90% of the players were using one. Half of the holes are narrow, 2 or 3 of them side by side. Which creates a lot of “cross players”. New and Old Course crossing eachother from time to time, which creates confusion if you miss a information sign. The bunkers are is very good condition, the same goes for pathways. Positive Note: the small kiosk at tee 1 / 10. Very friendly service, good coffee. You can sit in the shade an watch the hustle and bustle. " - Simone U.
