Especially the cliff of Gibraltar. The course is not difficult, but I wouldn’t say easy. Mostly wide fairways. Some holes are hilly. Customer service was excellent. Buggy recommended? Buggy paths in great condition. The tees, greens, fairways were in great condition. Bunkers were damage by rain. The bunkers that were recovered by the maintenance crew was in the best condition. "The scenery is so overwhelming that the course does not take centre stage… Alcaidesa Links is all about the views which are breathtaking… anyway the course (fairways and greens) is in good condition while bunkers show some discrepancies in the thickness of the sand often within the same bunker. Buggy (the ones in use??)highly recommended cart paths no problem. Notable holes?? Pick your fav from the ones with “The View”. The layout was very nice, it's a pitty that they are building a huge amount of new apartments and so destroying the surroundings. Tees (we played from the back white tees) and bunkers were in excellent conditions, fairways and greens in good conditions. The greens were very fast and very tough to read. On a windy day like today the course is terribly challenging: be sure to bring a big bag of golf balls!" - Achille

However, it is starting to get a name for slow play…we had four groups on the same hole…the 5 (yes 5 ball) 2 pairs and a three ball. The course Marshall suggested to the 5 ball they wait and let the pairs through…it was super funny seeing them trying to finish their smokes and beer to get out in front of us….they didn’t make it and we finished 45 mins ahead of them… The course is very enjoyable, a good mix of holes and all the Par 5s are easily reachable in 2…good fun course." - The married couple

What I don't like at all is the fact that the distances are not marked at all and if you can't use the Buggy and drive to the balls, and you don't have a range finder, it's not possible to orient yourself in the distance. also some bunkers are deep with lots of sand and some have almost no sand. We also didn't like that the caddies couldn't have their buggy and if they wanted to walk as an escort, they had to pay 25 Euros for each person" - Radim

"Good layout, new halfway house is very nice...its got a fantastic location looking out over the sea and the drinks and food were good! Maintenance on course was spreading fertiliser, needs to be done, but what a mess it made of our stuff. Holes 3-9 are great fun, the drive off the top of the hill on 5 really boosts the ego. Last four holes give you a good chance to make back any shots you've dropped. Pro-shop is very good too!" - The happy golfing pair

"We have played Alcaidesa Links previously and we had to return on a different day due to lightning. The staff were very good with this and re-arranged very quickly and we enjoyed our day. The views from the course along the coastline are superb and worth the visit alone. The course is lovely and still a good test. I personally feel that some of the changes made to the course have not enhanced it. I was looking forward to the 'pretty' Par 3, but all the shrubbery had been removed and it was un-interesting. Whereas some of the green complexes appear to have been tricked up a bit and not sure it has improved the course. But, we enjoyed the course and their hospitality. Thanks Donna" - Donna Brookes

"Had the joy to play with the Caddie Masters of Finca Cortesin on a day with almost no to little wind. With such conditions you can really enjoy the spectacular views of thew coast side and fully enjoy the course. Some holes are tricky and you need to have your distances under control for up and downhill play. Buggy is recommended." - Norbert Stahl

"This course was a joy from start to finish. The Links is dramatic and sets you lovely visual challenges. The par 5s test your strategy and get the wrong side of the pins on the par 3s and it’s easy to three putt. There is a lot of work going on to improve the course and when complete will make this a must play course in the area.
