"Very forgiving course with wide open fairways and just modest elevation changes. Easy walkable. If you don’t hit a water hazard, it’s almost impossible to loose a ball. However, the course is not too easy. You have a good mix of long and short holes, bunkers (very firm sand) which come into play regularly and mostly undulating greens. Fairways and greens were in good condition, the tee boxes need some leveling. You won’t find a driving range, but there are four new net boxes and a putting green available. Clubhouse with restaurant is nice, bathrooms and lockers require some update. Since this course is different to most of the others on the costa del sol, is in good condition and fun to play, I clearly recommend it." - Carsten H.

The restaurant is small, we went for a coffee and 20 guys had just got in before us from a society an we didn't have time for a coffee then before we played as the restaurant is so slow. 2. There was a fair bit of slow play, we were behind a 2 ball, another 2 ball (why weren't they combined?)and 2 x 4 balls. the front team were so slow, at one time there were 5 groups on a Par 5, one putting, the 2balls both out separately on the fairways, and us and the group behind us on the tee waiting, quite ridiculous) other than that it was a great day and very enjoyable." - Anonymous

"Although the course was in very good condition with fairways suitably dry we were confined to buggy paths only.Having looked at their website that same morning there was no mention of buggy paths only. Given that one of my party is a “ blue badge holder” and has great difficulty walking in excess of 30 yards before needing to stop and recover this proved very difficult for him. When we asked the Course Marshall to understand and be a little tolerant we were categorically told we had to stick to the paths. They would t even tolerate a 90 degree situation! Given the amount of money we pay to play golf there must be more consideration to those that have some individual health problems. Sadly it spoilt our day and we are unlikely to be returning." - Ken

"I played 5 different courses during this holiday and Santana was the best of them. The main reason for this is because compared to many courses along the Costa del Sol, Santana is relatively flat. The other reason is because there are no houses or apartment blocks lining the course. It has much more of a proper golf course feel to it. We rented buggies due to the heat however, it is the type of course that I would enjoy walking. It is the perfect course for holiday golf, the type of course which is a good test but also fair and presents scoring opportunities. Fairways are relatively wide so it is difficult to lose your ball even if you are a little wayward. There is a lot of bunkering on each hole so you have to manage your ball carefully and think about your tee shot. From the Yellow tees it is around 6,200 yards which, for a 6 handicapper, I found very manageable and enjoyable. The par 3 2nd is a great little hole and will have you aiming right! The greens were the best out of the 5 courses I played on this trip. They were receptive, a good speed and true. It was rare to find un-repaired pitch marks when approaching the greens. Finally, the food, staff and service in the small clubhouse restaurant afterwards were excellent. I would certainly revisit Santana again...it feels like a hidden gem." - Rob Pearcy, Ireland

(Even though we were all experienced and reasonably handicapped golfers (8-16), we played the course of white markers for the par 4's and yellow for the par 3's & 5's as the difference between the markers, the par 3 markers in particular, make most of them very tough). The course seems to be no member of the golf federation, so there was no slope rating for women on the yellow tees. To bad. The bunkers were an absolute desaster. The sand is no sand but pulverized marmer with underneath a hard layer. But for me (also because of this non-member of the Spanish golf federation thing) the most important issue is the lack of a driving-range. There's only a putting green." - Sonnee
